Passavant Energy & Environment signs two major contracts in India worth 20,6 Mio. EUR

Passavant Energy & Environment (formerly Passavant-Roediger GmbH), a wholly-owned German subsidiary of Drake & Scull International (DSI) PJSC, based in Frankfurt, Germany, has recently signed two contracts with a combined value of EUR 20,6 million for the design, engineering, procurement, construction, and operation of two wastewater treatment plants in Amritsar, India.

The Client is the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
 
The contract will be executed as a Joint Venture with local company, Shapoorji Palloonji Co. Ltd., Mumbai, as part of the development programs supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA.

The Joint Venture will be responsible for the turnkey delivery of two 95 MLD wastewater treatment plants including anaerobic sludge digesters which will incorporate Passavant Energy & Environment's latest evolutionary state of the art anaerobic sludge digestion technology, ensuring maximum sludge and harmful substance reduction, optimal biogas recovery and allowing for future energy generation.
 
Completion of construction is anticipated to be early 2016 and the operation and maintenance part of the contract will be carried out for a further 5 years.
 
The two new contracts for Amritsar Sewerage Project in Punjab, India, further reinforces Passavant Energy & Environment´s growing presence in the India market which will definitely help to consolidate its position in that region of the world.
